Kate has been working as a musician,singer and community artist for over 20 years.  Started  out playing in street bands and making processional images for celebratory theatre companies.  Plays trombone and fiddle and sings, with the Boat Band since 1989, playing Cajun and English folk music for dances, festivals and pubs. She has recorded eight albums. She has toured widely by land and sea: remote Scottish Islands,Louisiana, Canada,  Ireland and Europe. Co-director of Cat Island : outdoor events; theatre shows; workshops; street bands; recording projects and multi-cultural schools work. Helped to set up " World on your Street " for radio 3 in Stoke-On-Trent. Co-musical director of Loud Mouth Women, a 40-strong North Staffs women`s choir singing songs from Britain and around the world. Maker of giant carnival images; fire drawings; willow sculptures; lanterns and masks for numerous companies including: B.Arts; Dog Troep; Theatre of Fire, Walk the Plank; Welfare State International. Manchester CommonWealth Games 2002 closing ceremony and Chester Mystery Plays. Spent a year in 2000 building her own wooden eco-house in Penkhull, Stoke-On-Trent.
