Kate graduated from Guildford School of Acting in 1976 and spent the next three years touring the UK and France with various professional dance companies.
During this time Kate also trained as a Dance Therapist.
In 1979, following an injury which prevented her from following a career as a professional dancer, she joined The Hexagon Theatre in Reading where she trained in Theatre Administration and Stage Management and later became Assistant Box Office Manager.
Kate left the Hexagon in 1984 to pursue a career as a Freelance Teacher and Choreographer. This fitted in well around her young family.
In 1993 Kate's husband was offered a job in the “ Potteries ” and so the family moved from their Berkshire home to Penkhull.
Since 1993 Kate has taught all over the city including as a Lecturer at Stoke-on-Trent College , Dance Animateur at Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College and for the past two years Kate has been employed at Berry Hill High School where she teaches Dance, Drama and Performing Arts.
Kate is really enjoying her involvement in the Penkhull Mystery Plays. “We saw the first of these plays last summer. This is a fantastic community project and there is a wealth of creative talent in this village. I feel greatly privileged to be a part of it” |
